If I move to another state

I applied to few UC schools this year, but I just found out that my family ‘might’ move to another state this April. What would happen to me then? What kind of disadvantage would I get?

If UCD Admission sees this thread, please help me!

I’d appreciate any other help / comments.

Your parents for last year will have a domicile of California, I presume, and therefore, that's the information you will give. Your domicile is where you live (or if under 18, where your parents live/lived). They usually ask on the resident questionnaire where you've lived the last 3 to 5 years. Remember, your domicile is where you live with the intent to live permanently. Your parents moving in April shouldn't screw this up so long as your intent(assuming you are 18) is not to live permanently in the other state.

Thanks UCLA77, I do not have any problems then.

The Office of the University Registrar handles all residency issues at UC Davis. They have lots of information at Office of the University Registrar | Residency that should help you, or give them a call and they should be able to answer your question. I hope this helps.
