If I send both my SAT and ACT scores in...

Hi, I'm a junior in high school, and I just took the SAT for the first time yesterday, actually, in January.
I've taken one SAT subject test in bio molecular and got 800, but I'm not so sure how I did on my SAT's... I feel like it could range anywhere from 2000-2200. I would have preferred a score above 2200, though.
But my real question is: If I take the ACT's and do much better on those than the SAT I, but I end up sending SAT I, II, AND my ACT scores to colleges, will all colleges (like any of the Ivy's, top private colleges) consider the highest grade with more weight than, say, the other "low" grades? Would any of them be affected by how low of a score my SAT I one may be, compared to a high ACT score (that is, if I really do score much higher on it, and I feel like I will)

I'm just curious because I would really like to send my good 800 score, but that would mean I'd have to send a possibly-low SAT I score...

Many thanks!

You can send your 800 in Bio Molecular and your ACT if you want. (Use an SAT/ACT score conversion once you receive your SAT scores.) If you want to send the SAT II’s, you don’t have to send the SAT I. Usually, taking the ACT will void you of having to take the SAT II’s; however, if you got that 800 on Bio Molecular, I’d send that too.

yea, the IV’s (at least I know for Harvard) takes your highest ones. When I was speaking to the admissions counselor at Harvard, she said that they ONLY take your highest scores from a particular day. I don’t even think the review board sees your lower scores. Plus for Harvard, at least, you get score choice services.

bbarty is correct - you can send SAT II scores without having to send SAT I scores.

If a school requests all of your scores ACT and SAT they will most likely “super score” (take only your highest scores) but next year when you start applying you should check with each school to be sure.

Oh, so if I DON’T send my SAT I scores directly to colleges (via collegeboard.com), they won’t know about it? The thing is that my high school transcript seems to automatically include any and all SAT I/II scores I’ve received, regardless of whether I want them to or not.
But I guess, if nine9knives is correct, it wouldn’t really matter since most would ignore the low scores.

What BBarty said. Everything is cool.
