if i should go to ucla?

I'm a transfer student in city college of san francisco. I'm having a hard time to choose school. My want to go to UCLA, and there only have economic degree, but what I want to study is finance. I know UC berkely is a extremly good one but it's too hard for me. my friend just told me to go san francisco state, but it just kinda not my first choice. and somebody recommand me to go to private school, such as University of San Francisco and University of Santa Clara. I think that's a bit pricy for me. I'm wondering if I should go to UCLA or just stay in SF state. or is there any more choice (public school or any more choice in UC systerm)? my GPA is 3.73 now. please help @>_<@

UCLA is not easier than Cal. If you are a transfer, and wish to study business, you'll need to apply directly to Hass School at Cal or the biz-econ program at UCLA. UCSB has a similar program to UCLA, and UCIrvine is also starting an undergrad biz program. San Diego State has an excellent undergrad biz program as well, but hard to transfer into from out of the area.

Econ and Finance are math-oriented, so you'll need good quantitative skills.

thank you so much for helping me~~so san diego state is good??? in finance?? how about UC davis? it's very close to my home but the bussiness program there seems not very good~~

I would never pass on Berkeley or UCLA for CSU. If you want to go into business you are going to have to get used to the competition. You might as well start now. This seems to be a self esteem issue. ANd if you have never taken classes outside of SFSU how do you know how hard they are? You can't go by what other people say. If a school admitted you that means they think you can succeed. You can handle Cal or UCLA.

but there's only economics in UCLA, what I want to major in is FINANCE~ but I really want to get in the UC systerm
and I dn't know much school which good at bussiness~ by the way~ UC berkely is way too hard for me~although still have chance, my GPA is 3.75 right now~~really suck me~~please help

Have you considered USC? USC has a good business for UG. Plus I checked out USC bookstore and there were a lot of interesting finance classes.

Tammy:

The only UCs that offer an undergrad finance degree are Cal & Riverside bcos those are the only two UCs with undergrad business schools. UCIrvine is opening their biz school to undergrads adn will offer an undergraduate major, but not sure yet if they will offer a finance undergrad degree; right now they only allow specialization in marketing & accounting.

wowow`thanks~I got new info. from your reply~~thanks a lot~

USC?? is it means state university?? if so, I did consider it~~some of my friends who also major in finance told me they just go to san francisco state cz they said it's good enough~~but I check online the commen for the sf state is not very good~~~and today my consulor recommen me a private school--Golden Gate University.......do you guys know about it???~~~I really dn't know~~~damn`~ dn't wanna choose school any more in my life~~~!@_@

USC is a private school in LA.

i think you need to apply to some private schools because sometimes the financial aid at these private schools will be so great, that the price to attend a UC will be about the same as of a private school education, and possibly less than a UC> you wont know until you get your financial aid package
