Hey all,
I need to sign up for SAT II’s and I’m not sure if I am ready for Chemistry. If I sign up for Math 2 and Chemistry and if I feel I am not ready for Chemistry can I leave without cancelling my Math 2 score?
I am in AP Physics now and I am definately not ready for SAT II Physics. I had Chemistry last year so I need to study. I won’t know if I am ready until test day!
Thanks for your help.
You can sign up for up to three Subject Tests - and then take any (up to three, as well), not necessarily those that you signed up for. If you take more tests than you originally registered for, the College Board will bill you later $16 a pop for each “extra”. If you decide not to take some tests that are listed on your registration ticket, nothing happens - except you will have paid extra. So you can play it safe and sign up just for one test.
If you decide not to show up on the test day, you can later update your registration to a different date/test center for $28.
The fact that you are taking AP Physics now means you have already covered most of the material which shows up on the Physics SAT Subject Test. You just need to polish off your SAT-specific skills: take a bunch of practice tests.
I would even recommend you take Chemistry (after some brushing up and practice) - if you plan on using Score Choice and submitting only your best scores. Doing real time testing gives you an invaluable experience; besides, this is the only way to familiarize yourself with the true current content of the test: the College Board’s released Subject Tests are VERY old and mostly only available one per subject.
