If I take ACT with writing, do I still need to take SAT IIs ?

colleges require SAT I and 2-3 SAT IIs, OR ACT with writing.

It's looks like ACT is a short cut. Why do so many people still take SATs ?

What do you guys think? Thanks

Some people (like me) just do better on the sat than the act (and vis versa). Take both and see what you do better on.

^ Agreed. For myself, I tested better on the ACT with writing. It’s differs from person to person and it’s a very individual thing.

Check the websites of the colleges to which you are applying. There are a few that will not take the ACT with writing in place of the SAT II’s. (Georgetown is one example.)

Go here for list of colleges that require SAT IIs. In the required column if there is an * next to the number, it means the college takes the ACT in lieu of both the SAT and SAT IIs. If there is no * that means SAT IIs are still required even if you submit ACT
