If I think I'm going to be deferred, is it a no-brainer to take ACT a 3rd time?

I improved 3 points from 1st to 2nd. I could probably improve it another 2 or 3 points due to new material from a strong first semester course load and buckling down for a month of studying for it. Is it necessary or expected to retake between Dec to Feb 1?

I think I'm going to get deferred, just have a funny feeling. I'd much rather focus on my charity & volunteer work, varsity sport and making sure my first semester core GPA is a 4.0. But those things are pretty constant, leaving only room for improvement on the ACT. But blowing $50 again and wasting so many hours on a standardized test seems so silly. On top of that, I'm not even sure if taking it a 3rd time doesn't look a little sketchy.

Take it again and if you get a better score just sent it on in

Why bother, just send in your $20000 donation. Or is that a “$2,500 political donation to an alum with some juice”?

That’s a great idea, bearcat! Now if you could just locate my Dad, we could get right on that. But in all honesty, a $20,000 check should probably go to my Mom for back child support. And we’re not wealthy or connected to any alums because nobody in my family has ever graduated from college, let alone from U of M. Thanks for the help. Your life sounds super fulfilling that you seek out poor high school kids on the internet to pick on.

what’s your score right now?
