If I want to apply early action should I still take the SATs on October 3rd?

Hello, I have a 1670 right now and I know that isn’t fantastic. My top schools are Syracuse, Marist, Hofstra and Ithaca (I don’t believe you can apply early action to Syracuse but I digress.) Usually SAT scores come out around three weeks after you take them but should I even bother to sign up if I want to apply early action and most deadlines are on or around November 1st? Is there a possibility scores will come out later than that? I’m not sure it’s probably a stupid question; I just thought I should check.

Ya that’s tricky. I would take the test and then rush your scores once you get the results. If you do that , the school will get the scores in only a couple of days. I feel like it’s worth it to take the test and see how it goes, and if you do better, send that, plus you would now have a different test to send to your other schools. Also if a school is critical in test scores or if it’s a reach for you, applying early action would show that you are really passionate about the school and that you really want to go there, so your test scores are looked at a little differently. I would take the test just in case. Hope this helped! Good luck!
