If I want to go pre-med........

What school would i apply too?? Also how is Syracuse for people that want to hopefully go to med school?? Are there a lot of people in Syracuse undergrad that are hoping to go to med school??

Hey wats up.

I'm a freshman here @ SU and I also was considering pre-med when I got here. Syracuse is a large school, and caters to the interests of many different people. You could say that it is really good at a couple things (Journalism, Media) and average and mostly everything else. pre-med falls into that second category. I applied into the COllege of arts and sciences and its been an ok ride so far. There is a separate program you enroll into when you get on campus that serves as a guide for the 4 years you are here. They have meetings every now and then and you can talk to them whenever you want to if you have a question. ITs a really good program and it will definately keep you on track, which is what you want. There are enough science majors @ SU so that you won't feel like an outcast, but understand that it is primarily a business/journalism/media school so be prepared to be outnumbered a lot. I honestly love this school and don't regret coming here. The program they have for premed serves me well, and it will do well for you too so long as you don't need somone holding you hand constantly.

Hope that helped. Good luck.

My bf is pre-med and he's a junior here. I don't really know anything about the pre-med program, but I know that the #1 major (well, double major if you count pre-med as a major) for people who go on to medical school is Philosophy, followed by Anthropology. Thus, he's also an anthro major.
