I did bad in one of my classes and was wondering if I need to retake it before I finished the rest of my undergrad in order for it to be replaced. Or is it possible to take it again after I finish?

Other details: I transferred out of my 4-year private school to a community college and am planning to transfer to some other four year hopefully next year so if I have to retake that class I'd have to do it over the summer if I can't take it after I already graduate. If I keep that D on my transcript are medical schools immediately going to reject my applications?

Consult your school grade policy or talk to someone at your school, such as your counselor, that can point you in the right direction. Each school (including medical school) may look at your situation differently.

Yes, you’ll have to consult your current school’s grade policy. Some schools allow you to retake a class once for a new grade, and if you’re confident you can do better this summer, then I would consider retaking it. Once you leave the school you got the grade at, the D will stay on that transcript even if you retake it elsewhere. (But how med schools would perceive the D to begin with, I’m not sure.)
