If im applying online ....to Columbia Uni.....? HELP with app. ..

Im applying online and I have to send my transcript, letter of recs., and other stuff , which has to be completed by school officials...How can my school send the stuff?
By mail right? Not online?

Yes, by mail.

piggy-backing this thread, I'm filling out the financial profile part of the Columbia app online and the family info section has tiny boxes. i.e. They have maybe 10-12 spaces for school. What if I can't fit my school name in? Should I abbreviate or just type "high school"?

That part is giving me a headache, it's so confusing.

And my year in school in 06-07, the tiny box, would that be 13 as in "13th grade" or "1" for college freshman?

And then there's the "employer/school/college anticipated in 06-07"...would it be cocky to put down Columbia or expected?

...I'm so confused...I need someone to walk me through that thing.

I can only tell you what I did, but there were no catastrophic results from my financial forms, so I can guess they would be safe for you to use as well:

For the year in school, I left it blank (because I was applying as a freshman, so I figured they knew I was going to be a freshman)--however, when they asked for my older brother's year, I put 15th for college junior.

I also left "expected school/employer" blank because they knew I was applying to college and that it was up in the air.

I think that those questions are mostly for your parents and siblings; they know you are a question mark with regards to your future plans.

Good luck.

ok, thank you very much! You're probably right, that there won't be too much trouble if there's a couple parts not filled to their satisfaction. haha, I really need to pull things back into proportion, I guess.
