If I'm at Princeton for 30 minutes to an hour...

(Includes whole town, not just campus)

What would be the ONE thing I have to do or see? I'm bringing a college friend and stopping there to show her a little bit of pton in that time period.

If you're in a car- Drive down 206 heading towards Nassau Street (either direction) to show her what the township looks like, then drive through Nassau Street to show her the "downtown" area. Then drive down Washington(?) Ave to show her what campus looks like (you'll cross by prospect ave, where the eating clubs are and the fountain on your left side, and some typical campus buildings on your right). Then you'll cross the "river" where the crew rows, and head down towards Route 1, where most of the students do their shopping. If you have extra time, then park somewhere on campus and walk around a little.

awesome, thanks! any particular shop (food-related..) to go to? lol

I suggest you walk the campus. Princeton can be easily walked in that span of time. You won't be disappointed. Princeton is always ranked the #1 or #2 most attractive school in the nation for good reason!

After the walk, settle down for a beverage at one of Nassau's sidewalk cafes.

I second deter's suggestion: it's not a large campus, and all of it is gorgeous. Pianista's suggestion is great too if you want to minimize the time while catching a glimpse of the township (which blends into the university very nicely).

If you want some authentic Princeton cuisine, try Hoagie Haven on Nassau St. Allow me to recommend a Big Cat with lettuce, tomatoes, salt and pepper, hot sauce, and extra sanchez sauce.

Agree, you won't find a McDonalds or Burger King downtown, but in the streets behind Nassau are some great mom and pop eateries.
