if i'm in wharton, can i major in another school, but not get a degree in it?

just as the title says..

if i wanted to do the 13 cu thing to obtain a major in the college, but didnt want to fulfill the other college requirements.. can i just skip those, take the "major" and screw the "degree"

No.

You can’t have a major without a degree. In the College you can get a “double major” without getting two degrees because you declare a primary major and a secondary major. You can’t do that with two different schools.

I think you can minor, however.

Why would you really want to do that? The degree requirement is the major requirement. If you fulfill the requirement for a major, you fulfill the requirement for a degree if I’m not wrong.

i think its i need to fulfill BOTH requirements of the degree (which includes the GE and other distribution courses) and of the major (the actual courses that pertain to your subject) to obtain another degree.

but thannks guys for helping me out.

If you have the right AP credit and plan it correctly, you can get a dual degree with wharton and math and it won’t be too hard. It’s easier if you take Wharton courses for your math electives (upper level stat, finance 235, etc.).

^^ which APs should i take r fulfilling math requirements ? im thinking of doing wharon/math

The best APs to have as a Wharton student are both Econs, Math, and Stat. That gets you out of almost a semester worth of Wharton requirements. It’s also better if you take multivariable calculus in high school because you can pass out of Math 114 and jump right into 240, speeding up your math by a year.

u would just get a joint degree

There are 4 joint degree programs with Wharton. You need to be admitted to all but M+T as a freshman.

However, you can also fill out an application to get a second degree in whatever major you like.
