<p>Anyone else bothered by the fact that he compared the Tesla coil performance to an MIT marching band? I would think MIT would come up with something cooler. </p>
<p>I'm not sure why the judges thought that it was amazing, a lesson on electricity will tell you that there's really nothing dangerous/exciting about what they did.</p>
<p>Not to mention that, point in fact, MIT does have a marching band.</p>

I had to look up the video (I’m not one for watching reality TV shows) so I didn’t know what this thread referred to at first, but my immediate reaction to just the title was, “whatever this person is about to suggest about the MIT marching band, I bet they are going to be way off” =)</p>
<p>The real MIT marching band is extremely eccentric in an extremely awesome way, and this was just lame. So what? So they made it look like they got shocked with electricity. How does that make their music not lame? I just don’t get it. It has “gimmick” written all over it.</p>
