If only I get into Stanford.......

heh...winter formal is in mid-january. i wonder if i'll be in a good enough mood to enjoy myself. i hope i don't get THAT sad. i mean, there's a month in between.
-sigh- i'm pretty sure i'm gonna get deferred/rejected. i had the scores, grades, and whatnot. but no hook. my only chance is my essay!!! not good.

ah..you don't need Mr. Right. Too bad he's not ambitious enough to apply to Stanford. :p

haha, I was soo nervous he was going to apply, because he's so $*#&$ smart and will pwn my chances. I suspect he's applying to Pton though, so watch out.

oooh, then I'll propably get pwned. Is he applying to state just as a super safety?

state?? probably.

yeah I'd be scared too - he has higher GPA than the girl who got into Harvard RD years ago... our school's class of 06 is sooo competitive, with a lot of people doing elite schools. grumpy

Wow…I’m so glad I’m attending an uncompetitive school, despite the fact the it’s probably the best in WV (so you can imagine what the other schools are like).

is WV a rural state (with cows like Cornell)??

It'll probably help you geographically. I know someone (Asian) from Missouri who is at Pton right now, while some other MA Asians were rejected. Even though I'm in MA my town has 4% Asians, so it's not as competitive as some other public schools with a larger ratio.

Yeah, WV is pretty rural (no cows though) with lots of small cities and quiet neighborhoods.
I can’t believe I’m the only WV CCers to applying to Stanford so far. I’d have expected at least 5 so far.

WV is ???????

West Virginia I think

ooo haha that makes sense! I am slow ;)

Lol. It couldn’t have been Western Vermont. :p

im gonna be flying home from hs when the "decisions" come out. that's intense. haha. don't worry--I'll FEEL it's presence...

u gotta go 2 prom. don't u have a best girl-friend who u can go with if ur 2 (dare i say) traumatized by any bad news from Stanford? Sure it won't turn out that way though.

good luck.

Yeah, my bus driver is EXTREMELY slow. Every day we pass in front of the West Virginia University campus and he literally stops for every single person crossing the street. He also drives like an old lady and it takes me almost forty minutes to get home. Maybe I’ll just ask my mom to pick me up that day.

I’ll think about prom.

a senior taking the bus -- that'll cause a sensation at our school :D

My mom didn’t feel like driving me to and from school this year. I’m assuming that most seniors at your school drive? :)

I'm a senior and I don't have a car. I have a license, though. But I ride the bus every day.

our town is cheap now and makes us pay $200+ plus for bus and $350+ for a parking spot, so people with siblings and neighbours choose to carpool. And I leech off my friends to carry me everywhere, even before they were legal. Strangely my parents aren't raising a racket like I thought they would.

I drive 2 hours a day in traffic across metro Phoenix (like 45 miles each way).
It majorly sucks, so don't think you're missing that much.

live on campus. woop woop. haha.
