...I'd be a lot more relaxed.

I'm a sophomore from India

Academically - the numbers are good, I'm among the top few students in the class. Not taken SAT/ACT yet, but I'm gonna do a lot of prep so they should go well.

Extracurriculars:

National-level tennis
Lots of school-level sports
Involvement in school activities (like quizzes and stuff)
A ton of Model UN
Going to do quite a bit of volunteer work next summer

What do you say? Have I got a chance? What more can I do to improve my profile extracurricularly?

well known competitions, community service and research

K thanks. Anyone else?

become captain in your school sport teams. the bit about national-level tennis is definitely good. be focused in your volunteering: pick a cause and stick to it.

Yeah, I think that would be possible icanread. Thanks!

I'm going to volunteer at the Blue Cross, if that helps.

Read the thread "Those ECs are weak..so what's good?" by WindUltraCloud at the top of the "What are my chances" section.

It specifically deals with the type of extracurriculars schools are interested in seeing on applications--and why--and how they tell if you really are interested in these areas or not.

The OP's question was whether these EC's are good enough.

National level sport is given a very high rating in the thread mentioned by Calcruzer.

You do the math.

bump.

I want firefox to reply ;)

Please come back in a year. Without SAT scores and with little to go on in terms of academics and ECs, no one on CC can possibly advise you.

As a foreign student from India, the competition at the top schools will be extreme.

Go get a life.

i agree with ballet girl! whats your national rank for tennis?

didn't you ask this same question already? You're a SOPHOMORE, and life isn't all about what college you attend. Just enjoy being a kid while you still can. I know I am...;)
