"matt, did you get into ucla?"

Didn't apply.

"matt, did you get into ucla?"

Didn't apply.

oh, why not?

A girl I can't stand goes there (she even has the same major).

Plus I'm not a die hard UCLA fan.

Of course you appeal, it's stupid not to.

btw, if you appeal, when will they let you know the decision

If a school thinks it's too good for me...that I have to APPEAL to prove myself worthy of admission...I say SCREW it. That's why I chose to go to a CCC instead of going to 1 of the 6 other UC's I was accepted into my senior year. Then again, I appreciate the opportunity to explain myself more fully...All in all, though, I was then too exhausted from the admission anxiety to work myself up to write a letter of appeal. This year, though, I know someone on the Appeals Committee. S/he's allowed to "take on" 2 cases, and I was promised to be chosen as 1 of the 2 if I DO appeal. I don't think I will, though. We'll see. I'm happy to be a prospective Bruin.

Wait, he's a student and he's on the appeals committee??

cough let me be the second cough

Wow? Your friend can ACCEPT you into UCB? HOW COOl!!!!!

My appeal's already written. Just have to hit "send" in my outbox and I'll have letters of recommendation and requests for my teachers to expedite my final grades at the end of the semester.

I don't know how much of an influence s/he has, but I think some is better than none.

btw, can someone tell me what we need to appeal?
it seems like we need letter of rec?
thanks

You don't "need" anything; the appeals process has no rules. However, I think most successful appeals have included 1 or 2 letters of recommendation.

i can rack up like four at least.

Four might be overkill. I'd max at three from teachers in core subjects.

hmm yeah i guess quality over quantity...i know i can get bomb ass recs...

i guess it helps i never applied to schools like rice/cornell/stanford...now my profs can get me fresh recs

eh...should i get one from the admin at my school as well?..would that help?

btw, so it's not required to get the grades from current classes?
