I took the March 9 SAT and there were complications with the testing, a bunch of the students had to switch rooms because of construction. The scores were released last thursday, and I got a message to wait 7-10 days. Flash forward 11 days, still no SAT scores. Apparently, someone in my testing room switched rooms and is now under investigation. If he is caught, all of the scores could be invalidated. Is this true?! Could I have to retake them?! Because I am freaking out!

Yes, it is a possibility. If they know a test taker has acted improperly, they investigate including to determine if there are others suspected. If they are satisified it is only the originally suspected test taker, his test is canceled. If they believe there is a potential that others may have been involved but they cannot identify who they are, all in the same room or test center may be canceled. Usually that is not the result and only the identified suspects get canceled. Note that going beyond 10 days does not really tell you anything one way or the other because there have times that CB has had holds on for close to a month that resulted and almost everyone’s scores being released.

Yes but the rumor is that since we had to switch testing rooms (albeit prior to the test being handed out) and the school did not contact college board immediately, which is illegal and result in the cancellation of our scores. Is this possible? Its hard separating rumor from the actual policy and CB is leaving everyone in the dark!
