Hopkins, because Gtown and Duke would never give up scholarships, and Stanford isn’t right geographically.

Why not consider an Ivy from the West? Stanford works for me. From the South West, Vandy. From the South, Duke.
Also add to the list: Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, MIT and Chicago.

No way could Stanford work. The difficulty, cost, and time involved in cross country travel for every sport competition makes it infeasible.

If it weren’t for basketball, I’d say Georgetown is feasible. Stanford is not an option. UChicago is not strong enough in athletics to compete DI.

Well then again, isn’t Cornell hockey godly? Just like Georgetown basketball is?

^they’re a very competitive hockey programme. Think on par with a good SEC school at football.

I don’t think they’re dynastic champions or anything, but they’re one of the top hockey programmes in the country.

would john hopkins be willing to give up lacrosse scholarships? they are D3 too so that would be a big jump from every sport but lacrosse. standford would never work because of the distance and because they would dominate in most sports. besides they would never leave a BCS conference that is going to grow if anything.

“Well then again, isn’t Cornell hockey godly? Just like Georgetown basketball is?”
yes, but basketball is a sport that brings in money. hockey games arent broadcast all that often, i dont think i ever saw cornell on tv unless they were in the tournament. georgetown is on tv all the time for basketball though, and that brings in a lot of money they would lose if they played in the ivy league

Okay, lets tally it up. Based on the colleges I hear here (Stanford is west coast. It doesn’t count). Chicago is not east coast. So it doesn’t count either.

JHU:
Georgetown
Duke:
MIT (Although it lacks the sports…and its not a university…hmm idk):
Vanderbilt:

Put a tally next to a college. You can do more than one I guess. Add other colleges if you feel like it.

JHU: 1
Georgetown 1
Duke:
MIT (Although it lacks the sports…and its not a university…hmm idk):
Vanderbilt:

MIT has sports(D-3 except Crew). And it’s a Private research University.
Vandy has a better than average b-ball and football program.
Duke Athletics, no.

^Sounds about right.

vanderbilt might actually work, but they would be one of the best programs.

^ Does that mean that you agree with me?

sorta, vanderbilt is probably a lot better than the rest of the ivy in most sports seeing as how they r competitive in the sec

Ivy sports that are allowed to be good are lacrosse, crew, and hockey iirc. There are others, I don’t remember them. Vandy has sports that are a bit much for the Ivy.

oh yeah sure

so, good at rich white kid sports lol :)

^ Total win Survivor.

What division does MIT crew participate in? Yeah, I’d rule out MIT just because of D3…

LOL For one moment I thought D!ck University was Duke University
And then I was like oh snap…it is! :D
