If there's one thing...

If there's one on-campus service or store you wish you had access to as a college student, what would it be?

I’m a big fan of the Go-To Center, which would make a nice, handy list of all the resources available. That would be so very helpful.

Um… I know that my school does a bad job at including internships in the Career Services Center, so I’d love somewhere to go for that information. I’m not totally sure yet what I want access to.

A comic shop.

Seriously.

DUDE, yes!!! Comic shop! Luckily, there’s one about two blocks from my college. :P

I think a poster shop would be awesome. Like, a little store to get extra decorations for the dorm room so we didn’t have to go all over if a wall looks empty. Or maybe that’s just me.

^Agreed.

Also, a little mini grocery/convenience store. We have a “marketplace”, but it doesn’t have much and probably 9 times out of 10 they don’t have what you need.

yeah, a small grocery would be nice.

How about a decently-priced marketplace? Our school has a couple around campus that sell food and some very basic things (toothpaste, tampons, etc.), but it’s insane. Cheaper to pay for a bus ticket, go across town, and shop at a real store.

massage place

An on campus Walmart.

The bookstore doesn’t get video games until like 2 weeks after their release, and the Bestbuy/Walmart are pretty far off campus. The 12 packs and stuff are also outrageously priced in the shops.

^your bookstore gets video games? No fair! but an on campus walmart would be nice or a gamestop.

My old college had a grocery store on campus. Milk, eggs, cereal, cookie dough, everything was there. I always bought Chef Boyardee from there. Of course, I no longer get access to that luxury and I haven’t wandered around my current college’s campus enough to see what they do/don’t have.

I’d like a decent on-campus bookstore, and not the college B&N stores where they carry all of three books. I mean a hardcore four floor Borders, complete with a Dunkin Donuts (Dunkin > Starbucks).

Wawa, because 7-11 does not compare. A few more decent sit-down restaurants would be nice too.

A Target Superstore. It’s such a pain to hike off-campus to buy soap or wait for the weekend to roll around so a friend can drive me to the actual Target in town.

A Ticketmaster/box office booth. We already have a box office for our entertainment events (some of which are ticketmast events)–I wish they would expand its services to selling non UMD events in DC, MD, VA. It would also be great if you could buy tickets to places like the National Aquarium or nearby amusement parks.

I agree with the notion of putting a Dunkin Donuts on campus instead of the various crappy Starbucks that are around all college campuses.

A regularly priced grocery store.
