If they are still requesting finaid info.. does that mean I am admitted?

I just got a letter today, dated March 16 saying that they are missing finaid forms, is this a good sign?

I got the same thing, but I'm told the two processes (admissions and finaid) are completely separate.

yeah.. I was reading the same thing on the princeton and brown forum.. oh well.. im still hoping that the 3 hour interview helped (crosses fingers)

they just requested my Midyeargrades yesterday and I asked my school to fax them...and they got em. Is that good news as they are reviewing my app so close to the deadline? prays

Since tufts is reviewing your midyear grades now, I don't think it isn't necessarily "good news" in a sense that you might be accepted, but rather you are still in the running compared to other people who's decisions might be final.

ye... maybe Im in the people whom they review once again and then decide to admit.. like round two..

I think im getting my hopes up.. with all exams over and my chool life in the past... I gotta face it - i am jobless

I know what you mean, while I still have lots of work with AP exams coming around the corner, I am constantly thinking about the decisions.. and each day just seems 20 times longer. It's nerdy, but I even dream about big envelopes!

I got the fin aid letter too. I know the processes are separate but I can't imagine at this late date they are sending fin aid letters to everyone who applied. We will see.

Wow, someone's interview for Tufts was THREE HOURS? Mine was barely a third of that...but it went extremely well, couldn't have asked for better.

i didnt even have an interview...
Where I live, alumini interviews just dont happen

hahha, jimmy. you dream about big envelopes?!?! ... lol, i can't say that I do that but I do think about the mail CONSTANTLY. Tufts' decision release date is just around the corner, guys! Hang in there!

=)

and oh yea, THREE hour interview?!?!?

I don't dream of envelopes, but the funniest thing happened to me the other day...

my mom was trying to wake me up in the morning to go to school (dorky, I know, remind me to get an alarm clock for college...)
mom: honey, wake up
me (half asleep): I can't right now! I'm busy checking my mail (goes back to sleep)

my poor mom was like, "***? checking your mail? have you gone crazy with this college stuff?"

yes.

i KNOW i have gone crazy, if I didn't, I wouldnt be on this board checking for "decisions are posted!"... thats how I found out for UCLA. but yeah, only 4 more days! ah!

Jimmy, if you lived on the East Coast I'd say that you've gone crazy cuz on my computer it says that you posted at 4:34 AM!

I really can't believe it's only 4 more days!!!!!!!!! I feel a only slightly relieved because I have already been accepted to BC so I know i'll be in the boston area next year. =) And well, Boston, is just amazing. I'M SO NERVOUS FOR TUFTS!! AHHHHHH

haha, im not THAT crazy :).. I'm in california and I got back from a concert (which was amazing by the way!) last night, which is why i posted so late.

As for the interviews-- My Tufts interview was basically 45 minutes long, my shortest one--it was with a lawyer who scheduled my time and had another interview scheduled for, well, 45 minutes after mine started. As with most alumni interviews, he said they're mainly for attaching another personality to the paperwork, and as a recruiting tool if you are accepted.

As for the Fin Aid forms-- I got the same letter. I read around on some other forums, and the general concensus is that while yes, the Fin Aid and Admissions Offices are indeed separate, they must work together somehow. They can't very easily calculate financial aid for the thousands of applicants, they probably only calculate after a certain stage. Whether that's full-on acceptance or the a few reviews prior to acceptance, it probably means there's some hope. If it was dated in early February instead, then that might be an indicator that they're doing it for everyone right when the forms are collected.

Sure Jimmy, sure. That's what they ALL say ... concert ... pah!

=)

my interviewer was wonderful and stuff, but he started the whole thing off by telling me the adcom doesnt even read the report unless they're on the fence about you, which is deppressing since we had a great interview. only a few more days guys!!!

well, hopefully the regional alumni coordinator has more say (crosses fingers) :)

tufts was actually my only interview and i have to say that it was amazing. =) ... i actually had the alumn chair person interview me since no one had contacted me for so long ...

...i guess no one wanted to interview me .. =(

haha. 2 days, guys. =)
