Hey we’re already past 1,000.

OP: So have you checked yet?

Tell us when you check.

if you got in, you would know by now because they called everyone and they sent an email

^They haven’t called everyone – the telethon continues tonight!

can you call some early admits?? i think i wasn’t there when they called :/

^All early admits were called too. I don’t have especially strong memories of my MIT call. Maybe I missed it too. I think I did. I remember walking by this sheet with the name Daniel and a number with a 617 area code written on it. That’s MIT right? Whoever Daniel is, sorry I didn’t call you back!

But I think everyone admitted just got an email. It was very much directed towards RDers. Talked about CPW, video chats (I hope the MIT one works better than Dartmouth’s worked for me today!), and local events.

Yes, yes, yes my god, admittteeeeeddddd.

Now that you’ve got in, read Pepper White’s book, “The Idea Factory, Learning to Think at MIT”. The first half reads like an advertisement of MIT and then the subject matter gets a dark side to it. Talk to someone if you are having real problems. Some of my friends didn’t and the results weren’t too pretty.

Was my dream school and I got in. I graduated class of 1975. Didn’t have to study at all in high school and just about got blown away my freshman year. Lots of very smart people there. Hard to find out your average when you’ve always been at the top of the class before. Had to start at square one learning study skills. There’s a reason for the saying “IHTFP”. In hind sight, wouldn’t have wanted to go anywhere else. Was a great experience for me and, being in the engineering field, all you have to do is say you graduated from MIT and people look at you differently. Get involved in the research oportunities that abound at the school. Makes a big difference on your attitude toward the place and the experience you get out of it. Enjoy the ride.

Whether u check it or not any time soon…whether u get in or not…Ur passions and dreams in life are all you need to navigate its rough waters. Keep those close to ur heart and for as long as it beats you’ll always find your way.

You will rejected.

By this point, I hope that viewing your admission decision is still not contingent on the irrational necessity for this thread to accumulate 10,000 views. Unfortunately, it’s not going to reach that moment anytime soon.

I’m pretty sure he has checked the decision already. Or if not, the decision was spoiled for him. MIT has been sending a lot of emails/phone calls/mail to accepted students, so if he got any he would know he was accepted. If he didn’t, then he was rejected.

this is pretty amusing. I wonder if OP has given into temptation and checked yet? Maybe he’s seriously waiting for 10000 views.
Oh, and if he is rejected and just is too depressed to spare a glance for CC at the moment… hopefully he can get over it soon and let us know. I’m pretty curious to know what the decision is now.
