<p>hi everyone
my research this summer is coming to an end- and i have done good enough that my prof has hinted that we may be getting it published. however... i do not know when that is going to happen. so here is my question:</p>
<p>is it "better" to publish research with a professor and be named as like, third author (but publishes to a professional journal, as original research)</p>
<p>or is it better to publish on your own (so u r first and only author) to a publication for "undergrads/HS" as a "research paper" (not original research category...since my prof owns the research, technically)?</p>
<p>i'm think that if i do it on my own, i can get it published sooner...than I would if i had to work along with my busy prof.</p>
<p>any suggestions? thanks</p>
