If we might decide to transfer later...

I might decide to apply as a transfer to Columbia if i don't get accepted this year. If i decide to do this, should i retake my SAT to improve my chances? it is currently a 2180 superscored, but critical reading is 660 :(

thank you!

You will get more luck getting a response in the “Transfer Students” section because mostly high school students unfamiliar with the transfer process visit this one, although you should start with a search in that section first because this question has been asked there before.

That being said, I am a senior as well, and am planning to retake the SAT before I graduate because I want to transfer and don’t want to spend time studying next year. If you are planning to apply to more than one college (safety or another reach in case you don’t get into Columbia a second time, and don’t want to stay at your first college), I know that there is at least one college that does not accept SATs taken out of high school (NYU) so it may be in your best interest to retake it before you graduate.

Thank you crazybandit!
Good luck to you!
