If (When) I get into Princeton this is what I'll do....

29 Days until The Day Arrives.... (eek!!! :D)
What would you do when you heard the good news!?!

Me:

Scream -"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG, OMG, this is Sssoo crazy, ahh, yippppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee!!! etc, etc" for about 6 whole minutes...

then call everyone I know & spread the good news
then post here on CC either the longest message ever posted or.... well, you'll see
then go out to celebrate with a massive pizza and 10 of my friends &/or fancy dinner out with the parents
then begins the shopping spree for the bright orange wardrobe....

:p

A bit extravagent, eh? I'm expecting a deferral letter, so an acceptance would truly be a shock. Not quite sure what I would do, however.

Mine would be much the same, but I'm not sure about the bright orange wardrobe, lol

I'll have an obnoxiously huge smile on my face for days. (Christmas will be like it was when I was 5 years old.) I'll go through all of the Princeton web pages to get myself even more psyched up (something I haven't allowed myself to do yet for fear of disappointment). I'll throw away all of the Yale, UVa, Williams, etc. applications (and maybe burn the Yale one ;)), which have been sitting--completely blank--on my desk since they arrived in the mail. I'll send a mass e-mail to my whole contact list. And maybe I'm calm down enough to paint another picture of ....(you guessed it) ...Princeton.

And (only if time permits) I might study for my Dec. 16th Physics final or my Dec. 17th Calc one. :)

Oh, gianievve, btw: Have you posted stats/location/etc. anywhere yet? I haven't seen it. I just suddenly realized I know less about you than I do about Encomium. =)
(Though to be fair to enco, he did offer to tell people if they IM him.)

No way you're telling Kebree without telling me!! So... got your conf yet :p

cavalier302 - come on!! just post what you would do!?! it's one heck of a lot of fun (come on, just try it), and no one cares if it's extravagant or not....yet. This is Nov 17 - not Dec 15 :)

"I just suddenly realized I know less about you than I do about Encomium. =) "

:p

astrix - the question is have you gotten yours? :D

PS Keb ~ I really like the bit about throwing away all the other applications: (whilst nodding like Kebree's 5 year old friend - "oooh, oooh, add that to my list too!")

I put the part about the other apps in there because I looked over, saw them, and realized how much I dreaded beginning the application process anew...ughhh...but it's not going to happen ;)

I've already set up the wood in the fireplace to burn the other apps just in case (not expecting to have to, but as my first grade teacher always used to say, "Always be prepared, little ones."). I've imagined what it would be like to get an acceptance letter, but I think I'd probably go even crazier in real life than in my fantasies simply because...y'know...

rofl! Phil: the Funniest Guy ever

Aren't soft-spoken first grade teachers the best?

My mom taught me in 1st grade....=)

I think it was around the 2nd grade that I tried to get my mom to homeschool. She said she couldn't 'cause she'd end up killing either me or herself. I'm guessing your mom's a little less volatile than mine :)

Kebree - the cutest ever!

i have to admit, though, i have never considered hschooling.....until i met you guys

hey Keb - do you ever read/post on the Home Schooling threads (here on CC)?

lol @ phil
Yeah, I dunno how my mom did it...brave lady. She had to stop around 10th grade when I had to do upper level math/sci courses.

I loved it though....we went everywhere. Backpacked through Europe, took roadtrips across the US several times....we were sort of "bohemian," actually :) I studied pretty hard while I was at home in order to finish the courses in 1/2 to 3/4 time. It was priceless, though. I'd much rather be homeschooled with a teacher like my mom than go to one of the best prep schools...

You should write a book. Seriously. "backpacked Europe"? Too cool! Did you get to go to Wales?
