My son just took the SAT today. Typically in the Midwest, kids take the ACT, but he has always struggled with standardized tests and after raising his score from 22 to 27, he decided to try something else, and has done better on the SAT. He’s applied to several schools with rolling admissions ( gotten one acceptance with a half tuition scholarship) and four EA schools. If the score went up noticeably, should he send without comment? Or, should he check in and ask if it will affect his merit aid, assuming he starts to get more acceptances? TIA
it won’t hurt to check in and let them know that he has a substantially higher score that he will be sending to them
If merit scholarships aren’t in play, it’s a waste of time/money to send in additional scores that have already offered admit status
