I read that if you apply early action to Georgetown you do not need to send in subject tests. I hope this is true because I want to just send my ACT score. But for regular admission you need THREE subject tests. They say if you apply early to sign up for subject tests just in case you get deferred. What if I were to get deferred but didn't take subject tests and just give up on Gtown?

In my opinion, take them. Many other colleges require subject tests anyway, so you’ll probably end up taking them one way or another

When I visited, someone asked about this and they said you still need to send them, it’s just that they don’t expect you to have all three by the EA deadline…

Oh okay, thanks for clearing that up.

I applied early and had taken two subject tests in spring of my junior year, so the admissons committee saw those. I took the October SAT II which Georgetown didn’t see (and did not do too hot on) and the December SAT II before I got my decision (accepted early) and freaked out because I thought I bombed it, so I cancelled the December score and planned to register for the January one to take it last minute since I didn’t think I would get in and knew I’d need the last test. I never took the January one, since I got in early and didn’t need to.
I recommend taking the tests this spring or on the October test date, but if you’re worried about your scores, like I was, make sure Georgetown has your test report before they add the October ones, you can always send them along in November if they are good enough to be helpful.
