Yes, but in Voyager, she is described as still looking quite young. She finds this to be even more true when she travels back in time and sees that due to good genes, nutrition, and dental care, she looks far younger than a 29 year old mother she encounters.
@OHMomof2, can you PM me the link to that forum?
Done, nrdsb4.
On Claireā¦I was a little surprised to see the grey streaks in her hair. I guess thatās how they chose to age her but Iām 50 and I donāt have any grey yet. Some lines on my face, you betā¦but I guess a little grey is an easier visual cue than lines would be.
I read somewhere that Sam lost weight for the end of the season so he could look like he hadnāt eaten regularly. I wonder how that plays out for the first part of Voyager.
I also wonder if theyād work some of The Scottish Prisoner stuff into next season at all, since it fits chronologically?
Reading the Outlander forum-enjoying it to a degree, but I find it really annoying how negative and picky some of the members are. I had my likes and dislikes, donāt get me wrong, but it seems there are members who are just too invested in every detail of the books to enjoy watching any adaptation which strays even slightly. One review I just read had not one positive thing to say. Everything annoyed her or disappointed her. Diana Gabaldon popped in to say āCHILL. Itās an adaptation, so no way, no how, are they going be 100% faithful to my books in the time allotted, so manage your expectations.ā Iām using quotation marks, but really Iām just paraphrasing.
I donāt know why anyone would watch the show if all they can do is critique it. If I were that disgusted with something, Iād just sigh and decide it wasnāt for me. At the end of the day, itās supposed to be ENTERTAINMENT.
Just read a comment from DG that she was pissed that as filmed, Claire seems to have no hesitation or conflicts about killing Charles. This goes completely against her character, as a healer vs. āAngel of Death.ā In the book, they decide not to go forward with it-it was just a crazy, desperate thought that they never would have been able to see to its conclusion. While she understands and supports most of the changes made in order to adapt it to the screen, she just couldnāt abide this, and had a conversation with RM about it.
Says DG:
I donāt participate in that forum for any reason but to find out things like Breeās switch to engineering. Itās a book forum, not a TV forum and many members are super invested in the books. The woman that moderates it says she is reading or listening to the books at all times and has read them all some crazy number of times.
Good point that TV Brianna looks like TV Jamie, as neither of them look like Vikings. I am disappointed with the looks of Roger. I was expecting more handsome and striking. Oh well. I think they tried to make Claire look older with her eye makeup. Catrionaās eyes are older than her age anyway, they have that hooded sag to the sides that we get as we age. I think they played that up more with makeup tricks.
Something Iāve been thinking about it how Jamieās sexual encounter with Geneva is, by the standards generally agreed on CC, rape. She told him to stop, he didnāt.
^^^^I will have to go back and read. All I remember is her threatening to accuse him of rape if he didnāt make love to her.
I thought that was more like raping him but I may be remembering incorrectly.
This is from an Outlander web site that gives the plot lines of the books:

Well damn, guess so.
As an aside, I love reading the Outlander recaps (thanks for the reminder @Nrdsb4 ) by āConnieā at http://atom1cflea.ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā /post/98346816211/all-the-outlander-photo-edits-i-ever-edited
I hadnāt read any of them for this season yet, and they are all LONG. Iāve got a trip coming up this week in a car, no data (not me driving). I found a new thing that amazed meā¦āSend to Kindleā. I had no idea I could send web pages like that to a Kindle email address and theyād appear on my Kindle all nice and formatted, like individual books! Iām so excited!
I used a plugin for Chrome to do it really easily, did all of them in a few minutes.
Anyone tried the cookbook? A friend just recommended it. Since weāre behind in our viewing, we can now coordinate meals with the latest seasonās episodes.
^^^No, but in Voyager, Claire eats what she describes as an incredibly delicious oyster stew. Iād love to see the recipe for that!
Sam Heughan just tweeted that filming for Season 3 will start next month.

Itās going to be hard to wait for Voyager. That was my favorite book, other than Outlander.
Iāll be in Jamaica in a few monthsā¦hmmmā¦
I was also pleased to read that Sam has been reading The Scottish Prisoner. I hope they get some of that in along with Voyager.
Ok, I just saw this and I have to admit itās pretty funny. The cast is now filming Season 3 and Sam Heughan posted a pic showing how Jamie might have put on a few pounds in the twenty years since Claire saw him last.
I like Caitrionaās response.
Thought Iād mention a new Netflix series I enjoyed this weekend - Frontier. Set in Canada/US in the 18th century, about fur traders, the Hudson Bay Company. Jason Momoa (GoT and Red Road) stars, lots of British and Scots and French and I even heard a āsassenachā though in the bad way. Only 6 episodes, Iād have liked more.
Season 3 coming back late spring, early summer?
Darn, I thought someone had posted a date for season 3.
