I want to know that if i do not get in with EA, because i am taking the ACTs in December, will they automatically transfer me to RD and check my updated stats again?!

"if i do not get in with EA,"
The answer is, if you don't get in, no, you are not transferred automatically to RD.
But if you are deferred from EA to the regular application pool, then yes, you'll be transferred automatically .

wait, so you can essentially NOT get into EA? I thought being deferred was automatic for Early Action applications. What exactly is being deferred anyway . . .

Early Action means you appliy today, get your answer in december or january. If they don't like your app, stats, etc, you are rejected. If your app is borderline, they will defer you to the regular app pool, so they will compare you with the regular decision applicants. EA is not binding. ED is binding, but I believe Bing has only EA

I heard they're not doing deferrals this year though!

I'm 95% sure that the representative that visited my school back in September told me they weren't doing deferrals this year. I distinctively remember her saying "At Binghamton, we believe that if you don't meet the requirements the first go around, you will not meet them the second."

HOWEVER

I spoke with an admission counselor today and I was told that this year Binghamton is admitting less EA applicants but still doing deferrals just in case one wishes to give standardized testing another whirl in December.
