My daughter will be applyng to BC this year. She is trying to decide between majoring in Econ in CSOM or A&S.

If she goes the A&S route can she still take classes in CSOM or even get a minor (Finance, maybe) from CSOM?

Thanks!

Any BC student, regardless of the undergraduate division s/he is in, can take up to 6 electives in any of our four schools. That being said, the only minor available in the Carroll School of Management for non-CSOM students is the Management & Leadership minor. The only way to complete a concentration (in something like Finance) is to be a member of the Carroll School of Management.

So, it’s important for your daughter to think about if she wants to study Economics as a social science in a 12-course major and perhaps add in some business electives, or if she wants to study the business core and then choose a concentration (or two), which consist of 6-7 courses.

Hope this helps!
