if you are on the lowest end of the 25-75% range for testing...

So I've noticed that almost everywhere a 30 on the ACT is at the very bottom of the 25-75% range for all the super elites. Does that basically mean you are screwed, or does that mean you still have a chance? I know obviously the higher the better, and that a lot of those underneath are athletes and such, but they still must have a fair amount of people underneath it, and besides, no school has 25% of its population based on athletes, especially for the super elites since most are privates. I'd guess that at the very most, 15-17% of these types of schools are athletes, and even that is fairly generous. So would you say that if I can make up for it in other ways (ie being top 10%, having leadership positions, good recs, writing really good essays) that I can still have a shot at my dream schools?

thanks

It's harder to get in, but obviously people do it because someone has to be in the 25th percentile.

Someone just asked this question actually:

Just be as competitive as possible - don't ponder on the specifics now. People * can and do * get in (that's why IT'S IN THEIR AVERAGES!!!), but you will of course be more competitive with higher scores.

yeah...that was me LOL. I was trying to disguise my question so that I could get more replies, but you guys caught me LOL
