If you are taking breadth courses during summer school, please read this

Online Courses - UC Berkeley Extension

The UC Berkeley Extension offers many online courses. Courses number XB or XBW are equivalent to campus courses (e.g. Stat XBW2 is viewed as identical to Stat 2).

It may be substantially cheaper for you to take you to take courses online through extension (a side benefit would be that you could live at home).

thanks, i was looking for this. i’m also taking bio1b, but i might add another online course to fulfill a breadth requirement.

what courses would you recommend taking from this list? classes that are easy but also interesting? i’m in LandS if that matters.

look at the list yourself.

Anything XB/XBW is campus-approved. Anything that starts with X alone (not XB or XBW) doesn’t satisfy campus requirements

do we ever have to come onto campus for online classes?

nope, you have to go to a testing center for your finals, but there are tons of approved testing centers.

Are we allowed to register at extension in summer?

I was under the impression that UCB students couldn’t enroll at extension, period. Or will they just not allow concurrent enrollment (e.g. extension+regular fall/spring/summer)?

anyone know the answer? ^

bumping for new frosh

you are allowed to register anywhere during summer. I don’t know if concurrent enrollment is allowed during the regular school year, but during summer it definitely is.

Whether concurrent enrollment during the fall or spring semester is allowed varies by college (Letters and Science, Engineering, etc.). Check with the college for its policy. Policies may also differ somewhat on taking courses elsewhere during summer sessions.
