PE required all four years.

I would like a class dealing with logic and analytical thinking. I could probably use some more logic training since I don’t really know how to make my analytical skills better. Anyone read dune? Mentats ftw.

I would completely detest philosophy class; I’m already angsty enough without knowing the thoughts of people who have fermented their way of thinking for years. I’m not saying I hate philosophy itself, but that reading about philosophy might push some people over the edge as they ponder their meaningless existence =P (jk).

a sort of general “Life Skills”-balancing checkbook, debt, etc, with healthy choices, guide to voting, etc

LOl, Logic is a branch of philosophy though! Nihilism would be covered in the section on ethics, I suppose, but that’s certainly not to be representative of the whole of philosophy! There would be a nice long section on logic in MY phil. class, haha ;p

This. Damned unathletic noobs with their unbearable hugeness ****es me off.

(or conversely, the ultra-sticks).

Exercise is needed.

A class on the difference between spin and the truth. A propaganda class.

I don’t know if somebody already mentioned this, but in IB there is a mandatory class called “Theory of Knowledge”. Aside from an ethics class, I think that having a class like this might be important because then kids would actually know why they’re learning about what they are. How many days do you forget why you go to school? Would you forget about the opportunity you have if you had to see impoverished kids in Africa who could only dream about the same opportunity?

A Class that was labeled: Common Sense.

It would cover grammar that the basic idiot doesn’t seem to understand, even after 10 years of education.

Philosophy.

Personal Finance.

Life skills.

How not to be a total loser when you grow up!

religion/diversity: how not to be a single minded numnut

Sounds pretty good to me.

Public Speech.

Another good alternative would be Personal Finance (as many others on this thread have noted).

^ That is a requirement here.

Biology! It is a necessity…

^ Rec. here too.

sex ed that wasnt abstinence-only and required for every kid to take

a hiking class, and if you can’t walk you can sit quietly and look at national geographic

Civics… it never fails to surprise me when people don’t know basic facts about the documents that founded our nation or how our government works. Or bother to keep up on current events, for that matter.
