If you could only apply to seven ivies ...

which one would you leave out? And why?

Probably Columbia, not a huge city person so NYC would not be a turnoff of it for me.

The fact that someone applies to seven to begin with is problematic. I would say they are name-chasing as the character of the eight schools is very different. If someone were extremely attracted to Brown, it’d be curious as to what they’d love about Columbia, eg.

I would still apply to none.

Cornell is the LEAST attractive one to me. And I don’t think I’m even applying to one ivy… lol.

who applies to more than five ivies?? hell, who applies to more than 2?

Dartmouth. It’s too small for me.

T26E4 and stressed asked the real question: Why would anybody do this? That’s actually the point of this thread, which I created after seeing another poster’s list - every Ivy except Yale.

We see a few of these Ivy-crazy posters every week here, except most of them would take any of the eight. Where is this craziness coming from? You’d like to think that their parents would provide some mature oversight, but perhaps they’re part of it also.

I would cut out Princeton because it isn’t a good school in academics…

^The parents are very likely the driving force behind the Ivy-craziness… in many cases.

I would never apply to 7 in the first place since they’re all so different
I would nevernevernevernever even look at Princeton. I hate NJ and all it stands for. Not really I just really don’t like NJ.

harvard, because i have no chance. >_>

Leave out Brown cause that school sucks.

the town of Princeton is nothing like the larger state of NJ, it’s gorgeous

if you’re qualified and haven’t visited yet, I would’t cross of Princeton so quickly.

most beautiful campus i’ve seen (Duke, Georgetown, Vassar, UVa being some of the competition)

Although I would be really interested to see If I could get into simply one of the ivies due to the unpredictable nature of admissions. Of course I would never apply to more than two. Even one is a reach for most, including me.

Hahvuhd. foshizzle

I would leave out Yale.

New Haven is such a pit.

I was there for one day, and my car, a clunker, was broken into.

Probably Cornell.

I’d probably leave out Cornell; it’s too big for my taste.

Cornell, for sure.
