If you could travel anywhere in the world...

where would you go and why? I'm considering doing a gap year and so am researching travel destinations and trying to figure out how I would want to spend my gap year if I elected to do so.

Anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Austrailia because it's supposed to be awesome.

Alaska because I would love to see the polar bears and everything there.

Paris/Milan for major shopping.

51 W. 52nd Street (The location of the Law Firm where I will be working after my graduation from Harvard Law)

wow......sooo many people are just repeating treads..

Hawaii, Australia, yea.....

South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Brazil (again), and Canada (again). Mostly because I'm interested in the cultures of a lot of those countries.

Wow, you crack me up...If you ever go to Canada I'll get you a million dollars

South Africa. I've never been anywhere in Africa. I hear Cape Town is beautiful.

Good luck getting there on your measly salary.

Considering I won't be spending my measly $400k salary coaxing my ego with $200 cocktails and hookers, I'm pretty sure I can afford it.

Oh, quel horreur! I'm not gonna drop money on superficial **** like that to feel good about myself? Give me a break.

So you're going to be smart with your money now? The other day you sucked at investing.

I said I sucked at investing. I never said, explicitly or implicitly, that I couldn't add or subtract. I'm smart enough to pass the bar when the time comes, I'm smart enough to be smart with my money.

Wow, you can add and subtract, congrats. I highly doubt you have the quantitative aptitude for IB.

The thread's called "If you could travel anywhere in the world..." Just a reminder.

i would so go to mars

I would go to Mexico.

Afghanistan, Lebanon, Egypt, Greece... Somewhere in the Middle East.

Japan, Sweden, and Iceland. Everywhere else sucks.

Hmmm:

-Australia because it looks interesting.
-England, same reason.
-Whistler, British Columbia during the winter for major skiing.
-Utah/Colorado during the winter for the same reason.

Backpacking Europe ! I wish ! :(

Europe is tres expensive. But that would be my first choice; Amsterdam, France, London, Italy, Greece.

Next I would go to Hong Kong; great exchange rate and very modern. Perhaps there are some Chinese exchange/teaching programs?
