If you could work for any engineering company in any country it operates in?

Alaska! They actually pay YOU to live there. Must be a sucky place.

Alaska is actually a really amazing place. Everyone should go to Alaska at least once in their lifetime. The scenery is breathtaking. The wildlife is beautiful and the Alaskan culture is very fascinating.

It is true that Alaskans do not have to pay income tax, sales tax and they do in fact receive a 2,000 to 3,000 dollar check every year but these savings still do not begin to cover the high cost of living in Alaska. People do not live here because of high salaries, or lack of taxes, or even free money but because they love the state of Alaska!

If I had the capital, I’d move to Alaska.

I would also want to have my own company, but I am firmly believe that 30% lucky, 30% effort, and 40% market (is your idea good? how well you sell your idea).
So in essence, luck plays a major role.

If I have to work for a company, I have three on my list: IBM, Intel and the Oracle. I would love to stay in NYC, but the technical sectors of these companies are not located in NYC… so sad

What…? You actually want to stay in NYC? Dude, as soon as I’m done, I’m fleeing from this damn city.

LOL Enginox. I am talking about my business. But if as far as living, I would live away from the City. Minimally Long Island. Queens isn’t bad if I am not a billionaire. HAHAHAHA

Lol I feel the same as Enginox. NYC is great for those who love the hustle and bustle and for tourists, but me? No way. I won’t regret the day I leave.

@jwxie I live less than 5-10 minutes from Queens and I really still wouldn’t want to live there. I’d live deeper in Long Island if I had the money to pay the outrageous cost of living though.

Don’t get me wrong, I love NYC, Queens, and everything else in its nice package. But it’s really not for me.

haha, I feel the exact opposite, even though I know I’m making less here (with cost of living taken into consideration)
