If you don't get into prep school...

What do you plan on doing? Apply again next year? Go to the local public high school?

Personally, if I don't get in this year I will go to the local public school and apply to the same private day school and possibly a few boarding schools.

If I get into the local day schools I applied to, I'll go into my local public high schools IB program, perhaps apply to boarding school next year, or apply to spend my last two years of high school abroad in England.

I'll probably just go to a selective local public school and stay there. For some reason, I'm not very comfortable with being a transfer student.

i'd go to a local private day school

What grade are you in, EuNixD?

I'd probably thinking of going to Upper Canada College for grade 11. I think I could be a good candidate there cause I've been through all the private school and International Baccaleaureate stuff, so I'll adapt easily

UCC only asks one question for admissions: Who's your daddy?.....I have known the dumbest, richest most connected kids who went there. Dissapointing that Canada for all it's socialized medicine is still like that.

Not always. Its always like that in all prep schools in Canada unfortunatly. The one i went to before is exactly the same as UCC, but I really don't mind those spoiled people. They kinda make class funny. But there are still many bright kids who go to UCC, I know a few of them.

Yes, CEOs and politicians can have very smart kids!!

I know a few kids who go to UCC and all of them are very well off. I recall reading somewhere that only 6% are on financial aid. Lots of scandals, too. It's pretty much the same at all Canadian prep schools regarding financial aid, especially the Toronto schools such as Havergal, Bishop Strachan, St. Andrew's, etc.

I'm in 8th grade

suze, I wouldn't be so prejudiced against certain schools. Simply because UCC has many students who have parents who are well off doesn't mean it's a bad school. Why are you so against it?
