If you drop A100 after the midterm, does that automatically exclude you from Kelley consideration?

I’ve read that a lot of people drop A100 after the midterm. Does that mean they are all automatically excluded from Kelley consideration since a W is counted as less than a B-? Can you take the class over again the following semester and make up the grade?

A W is not considered “less than a B-”. A W does mean you don’t qualify for automatic admission to Kelley though, even if you make it up. Kelley admissions usually says that a C is viewed more highly than a W followed by an A when retaking the course.
