If you get an 800 on Math IIC, do you need to take IC?

Yes or no?

You don't ever "need" to take IC.

Let me rephrase: If you get an 800 on Math IIC, is it automatically assumed that you would get an 800 on IC and you therefore don't have to prove it (Does MathIIC test the material on IC plus additional complex math?)

IC tests plane geometry, which IIC does not. But IIC includes many advanced topics that IC does not.

It's not assumed, but competitive colleges/universities prefer the IIC over the IC because, like everyone said, the harder materials on the IIC.

Actually, if you made a 800 on IIC, believe it or not, you may not necessarily make a 800 on IC.

The curve for IIC is fairly generous. They'll let you be human on a couple of questions.

Show any sign of humanity on IC and you will not get a 800.

Yeah 1 wrong on the IC is usually a 780. On IIC you can afford to get 3 or 4 wrong and still get an 800.

I think I read on the Collegeboard website that an 800 on the IC equals the achievement of an 800 IIC. It kinda makes sense now, considering there is a much better curve for the IIC and no curve for the IC.

You don't need to, and shouldn't, take IC. Colleges want SAT II's in different subject areas.

It's not assumed that you would get an 800 on IC if you took it based on your IIC score. IC is much harder. It tests for perfection.

i wouldnt take ic, iic is much harder and an 800 on that is just fine lol

schools like UCs won't take IC anyway. What's the point? IIC looks better, more colleges take it, and you might not get 800 on IC. Plus, variety is good.
