The 1700 number includes transfer applications, half of which are not even eligible as they have not completed the necessary prerequisites or the 7/9 breadth requirements. Last year, 447 applied from Berkeley, and 1176 applied for transfer. 263 Berkeley applicants were accepted, and 90 transfer applicants were accepted.</p>
