If you got accepted to all, which would you choose?

Self-explanatory. If you got accepted to all the summer programs you applied to, which would you go to?

Personally, i would go to TASP even though I'm more math inclined, the philosophical aspect is what interests me.

Please refrain from only considering prestige; which would you GENUINELY want to go to?

TASP would definitely be my thing. Even though I’m Asian and stereotype dictates that my natural inclination would be to choose RSI, I’m not a big bio/math/tech buff and tend to like philosophical discussions, as you do.

JamesChang are you applying this year?

Just as a side note, I know of one individual who selected TASP over RSI. He was accepted to both programs but ultimately selected to spend his summer with Telluride Association.

I haven’t extensively researched RSI, but from what I’ve seen on CC, I’d go where I felt happiest. Six or eight weeks may not seem like a long time for some, but you have to be passionate about what you’re doing regardless of its length. (no innuendos, plz.)

If I’m accepted to TASP, I’m going. If I’m rejected or wait-listed and ultimately never receive a spot in the program, I’ll spend my nine weeks or so doing other enriching summer activities.

THATS WHAT SHE SAID HAHAHAHAHAH lolololol.

But yeah, to answer your question, I am applying this year. I’m a little bummed that TASP doesn’t consider stats though.

Jmb if you are referring to the same individual I’m thinking of, I think he would say that TASP was well worth it.

James:
Telluride doesn’t consider stats because some of the Telluridian kids aren’t the best achievers in school or on test, but they are intellectual in one aspect or another, which is what Telluride is looking for.

The "what she said’ phenomenon at my school is such an issue that I’ve had to alter a significant amount of my daily vocabulary.

@JamesChang: I’m actually glad in the sense that TASP does not weigh extracurriculars, grades, and standardized test scores into its application process. I’m by no means a standardized test taking phenomenon, nor an advanced placement machine, but I’ll write six essays and give it a shot.

@Antagonist: I feel that you’re probably correct in your thinking.

Yeah fershers, but what are the chances that I suck at writing essays but have good all around grades and test scores :/

Whatever, I’ll write my essays and see what happens.

You don’t necessarily need to be the next Nobel Laureate in Literature to have a shot at tasp. From what I’ve read/heard/seen while lurking throughout the forums on CC, it’s more the conceptual aspect of your compositions that is valued. Using a certain word won’t impress the readers, but a unique idea will.
