If you got deferred from PLME, are you supposed to write them a letter or something, because that’s what I’ve been hearing. And what exactly should you put in that letter…that Brown is still your top choice or something? Has any deferree done this so far?

It would probably help to do so. Write that PLME's still your top choice, your heart is set on Brown, and update them on any achievements you have made thus far during senior year. Good luck!

I recommend you read this article. thoroughly. The applicant in that article called the admissions committee of her particular college (it wasn't Brown) and they definitely recommended that you should send a letter. I also saw a post somewhere on CC (can't find it at the moment) made by a girl who was deferred from Brown, and she also called the admissions committee who said she should definitely write a letter and/or send additional scores, credentials, accomplishments. The thought of actually calling the admissions committee scares me too, so I'm just going to write and send a really heartfelt (but not desperate-sounding) letter.

I was deferred from Brown and PLME, and I'm hoping that this letter will let the admissions committee know that if I were honored with an acceptance, I would definitely attend.

Good luck!
