I'm also an IB candidate and have taken the toughest schedule possible at a very good public school. I'm a white male, not poor enough for financial aid, and I applied for communication. I got a lot of C's on my transcript, however. I took 6 AP classes. I failed (got a 2) both English AP tests and Psychology.</p>

<p>Tufts syndrome seem to have a great effect here, though it doesn't apply across the board. There are so many students I know, including myself, who now feel bad because UC Davis was only a dead-last safety.</p>

White female, California school.....upper middle class. Great personal statement of 4 years of theater having played many lead roles. I thought I had a shot at UCSD, but guess not. But heading for Davis..and very excited about it!</p>
