If you had to decide where to use your Early Decision admission....

Okay so you are deciding between two colleges to apply for ED. One college is your top choice but is harder to get into. Keep in mind both are VERY hard to get into. Which of the two would you choose to apply to give this scenario?

Do some research and find out if the school ED admission rates are really better than their RD rates. If there’s no big difference, apply to both RD, which will allow you to hedge your bets.

Is your family able to afford both schools?

@SlitheyTove‌ yes they can. It really comes down to my chances of getting into one of them.

Only apply ED to your top choice. Since most “top” schools offer EA, are you talking about Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Dartmouth, or Penn?

@AmaranthineD‌ I’m talking about duke and JHU and I plan on doing BME

I’m assuming Duke is the first ED school you were talking about? That’s a tough decision, as Duke admitted half the class ED this year. Hopkins is top for BME though, and is also very hard to get in with that major.

@AmaranthineD‌ actually jhu is my top.

Oh, then that’s easy! Duke is definitely NOT easier to get into than Hopkins, especially for BME! If you can afford it, apply ED to Hopkins :)

@AmaranthineD‌ Hopkins only accepts about 120 applicants into BME haha
