If you had to give one last piece of advice before someone took the SAT...

on the flipside, don't get overconfident. i went down 70 pts. my second time. =(

haha so now i think we all believe that people should be fairly confident and optimistic when taking their test, but not so overly confident as to not check their answers (was that not so...as pattern used correctly there?)

^ A lot of people score better when they don't really care about what their score is on the test. Go figure.

Dude, I'm gonna go with the earplugs :) Super idea!

Get plenty of sleep!

Any tips for a situation where the proctor can't control the rowdy test takers?

about the earplugs

tell ur proctor ahead of time so he/she doesnt question you durign the test

and it shoud be fine

@theReach: Cancel your scores and complain to ETS (pretty sure that is who does the SAT...).

eat a clean, healthy breakfast. so u have energy and no stomachs w/e =p

Be prepared with all de stationary items the day b4 itself...instead of rushing in d morning...

Wear comfortable clothings.....

Its good that u have a watch...But the disadvantage is that u will keep looking at it....and will get panicked.....and de result will b tht ull hv no time to complete...

Its advisable that u dont waste time on question that u are not sure about....on the first take do all the questions tht u r confident abt...and then go back 2 de others...tis helps a lot since it relly saves time...

anywyzzzzz BEST OF LUCK.........me myself having written SAT is sure that these pnts will help.........nd stay calm..

^ You work for the ETS? Omgzzzzzzzz thaz sozzz coooolz, canzz you plzzzwzz gix me sum l337 tipz for pwnin satz?

don't study the night before! please! also, don't drink coffee in the morning if you've never had it before. my cousin did, and she... well, i won't go into that story. just stick to your normal routine (i.e. if you get lots of sleep, go to sleep early... if you don't generally eat breakfast, don't feel the need to do so the day of the test). and get all the materials together the day before. AND MAKE SURE YOUR CALCULATOR WORKS.

GOOD LUCK!

A friend of mine went into the testing room and took a seat, which he eventually realized was right next to a heater. Heater came on, he got really warm, and he fell asleep.

Don't sit next to a heater.

get high before test. im dead serious some kids were smokin rite before sats outside center, didn't do too bad i heard.

About confidence, for some reason I found it useful to act like you know everything on the sections your weak on, and not confident on the sections you're strong on.
Like for me, math is something i'm pretty good at but I don't want to overconfident so that I won't check my work. Whereas for CR and writing if I'm less confident, I believe as if I can't do it, even though if I really tried I might of got a higher score.
