If you have a chance to attend either Cambridge or Yale, which uni would you go?

pick one and state your reasons please. Thanks. :)

Cambridge: one of the safest and most beautiful cities in the world. Unbounded history and culture. Architecture so amazing you have to see it to believe it.
New Haven: ah, not so much.

Probably Cambridge, though it would be tough to go across the pond just for undergrad. Yale would be quite tempting tho.

Yale, because it’s closer to home. Transatlantic flights are very costly and time consuming :(

^ Given that money wouldn’t be a problem for you, which uni would you choose between the two?

Yale. Gilmore Girls. Plus, I don’t want to tell people I “read” chemistry.

I would choose MIT  JK. I would choose Cambridge. It’s more exotic than Harvard or Yale. Plus you can develop an English accent, which is very very cool for the ladies in my opinion… :P

I’d rather go to a Big Ten school.

Yale, because the time and energy, not money, flying across the pond would take. Also, I’d rather work in the US and have better alumni connections here. Also, I wouldn’t want to meet a potential partner across the pond and then deal with that dilemma. The final reason I would rather not go to Cambridge is the lack of general education relative to the US system.

Yale. American-style undergrad ftw.

Hey, it worked for Emma Watson ;)

I’d definitely go to Yale. I don’t like the style of the education at Cambridge or Oxford. Also, British schools and universities are strict and tough. I like to relax. If we’re going on a name-basis (given the options), I don’t know about where YOU live, but no one in my area knows anything about Cambridge. They only know Oxford.

Yale.

It’s in America. That is all.

ilovebagels, isn’t emma going to Brown? My sources say she didn’t make it to Cambridge.

I would probably chose Cambridge if my parents would let me, but they’d probably make me stay in the US.

Cambridge. The best math program on the planet, bar none.

Cambridge: 5
Yale: 6 (including me)

Yale is stronger in my area of study, and I enjoy the broader education.

Cambridge for its math program. It’s one of the best (if not the best) in the world.

RML, may I ask you why you need to ask this forum about Cambridge?

^ Yale would be an excellent benchmark of a top, world-class academic institution. Having said that, I’d like to see how Cambridge fares against an American iconic uni that is Yale, or how the educated Americans (such as those on this American-dominated forum) view it.

It’s 6 - 6 now, btw.
