I'm frankly not too optimistic. Though I will be applying with essays emphasizing my using Spanish/Chinese and experiences in travel. Will also be applying under aboriginal from Taiwan (if that makes the smallest difference? rofl, it's more of a political statement than anything else.)

Nothing special. Focus on your internships if you can, since they can be “unique”.

Courses are of average rigor.
What are your senior year course?
Scores are decent, but nothing special.

Where are your prestigious honors or hooks?

Perhaps.

Courses are strongest for my school.
Senior schedule is looking the same.
Scores are what they are.

Regional badminton. That’s all I got, frankly.

They are major reaches–ORM from overrepresented state with good but not great scores and weak ECs.

You’ll get into most colleges, so try some everyone fitting your description is not trying to get into!

The reason I apply for Stanford and Yale is for potential double majors or minors regarding language. Their programs are nice; I am in actuality, not so much interested in either Princeton or Harvard.

But yeah. I guess.

Try Middlebury and Dartmouth for great language programs.

Also be careful writing about travel. A top counselor axed my son’s essay on the topic saying it smacked of “rich kid.”

It’s going to be quite humbling if nothing else – but thank you for the suggestion, I can see how that’s a definite possibility!

I will definitely be applying to Dartmouth.
