In.
Cornell seems to LOVE people focused on their ECs. And that is you.
Plus you seem so unique I bet they would love to diversify their campus even more by admitting you =P
Write a killer essay on how your perspective on people has changed from visiting all those cities.
And...that GPA isn't low, especially for a school like that. Each HS is weighted according to their academic standards, and since your school is some top notch private academy, your "low" 3.7 at your school probably weighs next to the best possible grades at most of the schools in the US.
Congrats.

Oh! I made a mistake, Math is a 650, CR is a 600...
I just retook my ACT's and I'm expecting around a 29, so I'll probably submit those too because they're higher than my SAT's...

Dontno- Thanks for the advice about the essay, definitely makes sense :]

Greens- Thankss ! :)

Babababump! :) Thanks for the help you guys!

Wow, IB eh?

Here are my stats: Canadian (Intl) / IB Diploma / Predicted 39 (actual 42 but none of the Ivies gave a damn, shucks) / SAT 2260. Rejected from CAS. Hopefully you will have better luck!

Aww that sucks, sorry :( But with those stats I'm not worried you'll get into other amazing schools :)

Any other advice before I send in my app? :S

"You are so in. ECs are well focused. Your SAT is only low by CC standards--everywhere else it's decent. And @ the poster above me: since when is a B average at a highly competitive school bad?"
i just had to chuckle at this ridiculous post (no offense intended, really). Kleiner-Hase's SAT score is not low just by CC standards--she does not have a single 700+ on any of the sections, including the SAT subject tests. that's not "decent" by any means (unless you apply to state colleges). and a B average, no matter how competitive the applicant's school, is bad for top-tier colleges like cornell. i am willing to bet that there are many students in Kleiner's school with near perfect gpa's, so saying that you have a B~A minus average just because your school is tough is not a valid excuse.
Now, what i'm saying might come across as ****ed up, but i'd say your minority status is, ultimately, what will get you in. I know African-American students of high merit like yourself would hate hearing things such as "oh you'll get in cuz your black", so i'm sorry if i offended you. but the truth is, if you were asian or white, you probably would not get a place in cornell.

A 3.7 is not a B average, in most schools it's an A- or at least high B+.
In my HS, a 3.7 is an A-, meaning 90-94%. Hardly a B...

Her SAT of 1910 is actually far above the national average, which is probably a mediocre 1500 or so...who knows. But yeah, it is low. Cornell seems to be more fit-based than numbers though. I've seen people on this board post they were accepted with under 2000...I doubt they're all Native Americans with legacy.

Yeah, at my school a 3.6 is an A- so a 3.7 is right between an A- and an A average :]

Thanks, stargazerlillies... I'm hoping I can be one of those people who get in despite those numbers.

you're definitely in at Cornell.

Thanks! :)

Any last comments? Bump...

good chance if ur essay rocks http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/623727-chances-would-appreciated-chances-back.html

Hmmmm... I would say you stand a decent chance... especially if you are applying to CAS.
YOur grades and your academics seem a little low (you should have applied ED), but hopefully your ECs will make up for them.

Thanks :)
Oh, I'm applying to Human Ecology though... Do you think that will lower my chances?

Well, from what I see, you have very strong extra curricular activities (and leaderships to go along with them).
I don't think applying to Human Ecology will necessarily lower your chances because your activities are more or less related to your college. I only specified CAS because they tend to pick students with specialties over the GPAs. So just hope for the best :)

Thanks ofssinfoxes :)

I say you have a chance but not more than 50-50 (assuming you have a good essay). Your test scores are too low. Good luck.

Yup, test scores are definitely low... I'm still waiting to get my ACT score...!

Ba ba ba bumppp
