If you just KNOW you're going to be deferred....

Yeah I'm feeling a deferral too... no one's gotten into Yale from my school in like 3 or 4 years... I hope I get in... :\ I'm not feeling very confident though

If I were Yale and I read my app... I don't think I would let me in. That's how you know you're screwed.

I can just feel the bad news coming, but a small part of me is holding out hope. I'm the same way, if I don't get it, it'll be hard to tell people. Not because they'll be disappointed, but at the same time, I'd love to be able to give my parents amazing news.

Exactly the same here.

fringey stop being so hard on yourself :) if i was yale i'd let you! you have proven yourself quite the character over the past few weeks, consoling us, making us laugh, being the biggest bulldog fan ever-- and im sure with personality as grand as yours, it shined through your app!

That's so nice... thank you! I really don't think that my app reflected who I am that much and even if I did, it won't make up for my transcript/SATs. Loving a school isn't enough. I wish they would come on CC, haha!

Thanks for being so nice to me, everyone. It makes this easier because I know I have friends here, yet harder because I may not get to go to school with you.

Apparently, they do come on CC. But, they won't know who's who...

True... I said which school I go to, though, and my birthday is clearly 3/23. That narrows it down, I hope, haha

if anyone of us gets outright rejected and feels horrible, listen to this song; it will automatically make you happy and give you hope for the future :]

meh here i am trying to study for a darn physics test and instead i'm glancing through these forums.

< 17 hours.

Me too, I have to type a big project at biology, ant don't really feel like. I just want to see I am deferred or rejected and move on to 'why other schools' essays

Why Princeton: I was deferred/rejected from Yale SCEA......
Why Harvard: I was deferred/rejected from Yale SCEA......
Why Stanford: I was deferred/rejected from Yale SCEA.....
Why MIT: I was deferred/rejected from Yale SCEA......
Why the long face: I was deferred/rejected from Yale SCEA......

That sounds like my Why Yale essay: Harvard got rid of their early action.

Thanks to you guys though, Yale has soared on my own personal ranking system; it's easily my second choice out of the schools I applied to.

.... oh.

Well, that's... interesting. While I do hope you can get into Yale as a backup, I hope you get into Harvard more :-)

It's totally not a back-up. Yale is awesome. I'm just one of those "36% additional applicants."

:x

Fair enough... making it tough for the first-choice kids :-*

But it's ok... you deserve it, too

Rick, did you seriously state under the "Why Yale?" question that you applied because Harvard got rid of EA??

Of course not. I've always had Yale on my list of schools that I was going to apply to and I did apply. I was just going to be a RD candidate and not an EA one until I remembered that Harvard got rid of their EA. Thus, I decided to apply to Yale's -- here I am.

Rick, you're one of the infamous contributors to the 36% rise in early apps for Yale! We yalies have been saying to each other for months, "since harvard & princeton eliminated their earlies, a bunch of people who WOULD have applied there are gonna revert to yale!" curse you people! ;)

i have to admit my heart was not really in that winky emoticon. curse you.

Yeah, I wish they would have made Yale ED so we could prove our loyalty that way, hahaha.
