Hello. I am studying independantly to take the SAT English Literature exam. I have read a variety of English language classics and studied the themes, literary styles, etc of the respective works. I like to think I am in good hands--I enjoy the subject, after all. Still, I know next to nothing about the structure of the exam. It is, for all appearances, the most elusive exam to study for. There is almost no information about the exam online, excepting what loose descriptions I have read on the College Board website.

What all does the exam cover? In addition to analytical skills, is there

vocabulary?

literary terminology? (as in anaphora, etc)

an essay???

I would be eternally thankful if a veteran of the exam could clarify this for me.

As an added curiosity, I would be interested to know how the English Literature AP exam matches up with its SAT counterpart--harder, easier, similar, different? What's the format? I figure if I am studying to take the SAT, I ought to take the AP, too.

Thanks a billion. :)
