Anyone know whats the best major to get into medical school with?

I heard that its good to supplement a science with social science so im thinking about molecular biology and psychology, and its going to take me another three years at dvc. LoL (I've been there for 2 already)

Is there any programs in california that gaurantees admission to medical school?

Thanks-titus

yeah I think USC has a medical program like that. I really don't think medical colleges will care what major you choose so choose something that you are interested in. You just have to fulfill the prereqs to get in to medical school such as Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, English etc.

ucsd as an 8-yr program, as well. in regards to major, there is no "best major". most premeds will choose some sort of science major because it encompasses all of the premed requirements; however, med schools may also like to see an applicant who majored in something unrelated to science, like econ or music.

You could Google "Early Assurance Program California" to see if any of the schools in California offer that program.

The way the Early Assurance program works, is that you would apply to the program, usually during/at the end of your sophomore year of college, and you can be given a seat in medical school, and then relax a bit during your last two years of undergraduate studies. When you apply, you most likely will need to have finished the pre-med courses, as well as have taken the MCAT (I haven't really looked into these programs, so I'm not entirely sure what the requirements are). Usually they will say that you have to maintain a minimum GPA during your last two years of undergraduate studies.

i'm pretty sure USC and UCSD are the only programs; i don't think that there are any Early Assurance programs in ca.
